Swim Torquay pool scheme to start soon

Work will start soon on a major £600,000 renovation scheme at Swim Torquay that will secure its long-term future as a community pool.

The scheme is going ahead thanks to £450,000 in financial support from Torbay Council and £150,000 from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities fund.

The Plainmoor pool will remain open whilst preparatory works are carried out. Repair and replacement works will then get underway on Monday 8 July, requiring its closure.

The scheme is expected to take 16 weeks, but the pool will re-open earlier if work finishes ahead of schedule. The estimated work period could be affected if the builders identify any other issues that need to be addressed.
